The short version: we collect nothing about you or your students.

Student names and grades stay on your device

Sprout Assembly is used in classrooms, so it is built to collect nothing. The class lists, seating plans, rules, picked names, grades and rubrics you type are processed in your browser and are never sent to us or anyone else. There are no accounts, no forms that submit data, and no advertising.

What is stored in your browser

To save you retyping, the tools keep your work in your browser's local storage on this device: the seating chart's class list, layout, rules and plan; the name picker's names and picked list; the grade calculator's categories and scores; the rubric; the noise meter's thresholds and sensitivity; and your colour theme. Only someone using the same browser on the same device can see them. Each tool has a button to clear what it saved, and clearing this site's data in your browser removes everything. On a shared or school computer, clear it when you finish.

The microphone

Only the classroom noise meter uses the microphone, and only after you press Start listening and your browser asks your permission. The sound is analysed on your device to measure how loud the room is, a few times a second, and is then discarded. It is never recorded, saved or sent anywhere. Press Stop or close the page and the microphone is released. No other page asks for the microphone, camera or location.

Page view counts

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which tools are useful. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other sites, and never receives what you type, paste or say into the tools.
